With economic recession taking the world by a storm, eating out today has become a question of affordability. As food prices in restaurants across the city going up, Individuals are cutting down on their eating out budget out budget or exploring the cheaper options such as , processed foods, fast food, smaller joints in and around their residential locations, compromising on food quality. But these joints do not give the ambiance, privacy, feel good factor, you cannot take your family or your girl friend to these joints, the idea of eating out completely fails as it does not give a feeling of being on outing and eating with family or friends.
"It's difficult to eat healthy at a decent place on a budget," you'll hear people complain and while that isn't necessarily true, what is true is that, it's easy to choose unhealthy foods when have limited budget to eat out. Last Monday while out for a quick lunch, an economist friend remarked, if you're going to be cutting your food budget, start with the least nutritious foods first. But is it a price worth paying with your health at stake? I was wondering as we reached Knight by Castle-9 in B-Block, I hesitated to go inside thinking it might draw a hole in my pocket, my childhood friend Mr. Hunger told that he's a regular at Knight, have been here quite a number of times and started praising about the food ambience and variety of food. Completely ignorant about knight I followed my friend believing him and went inside. We were 4 of us. As we contacted the manager, he said they have come up with an economy Lunch menu. "An Economy Lunch Menu?" "Definitely not healthy, tasty or may be ill portioned" I thought. On Mr. Hunger advice we ordered four of lunch specials. To my surprise it was exactly opposite from my wild thoughts about economy lunch, It is actually a multi-cuisine self portioned menu. They have choices which you won't find in ‘most if not all' good fine dining Restaurants in and around the area. I ordered a Malabar Mutton Curry and it came with a self portioned Steamed Rice and some salad, which for me was more than I was looking to eat. The Mutton was delicious, it reminded me of my trip to Kerala last year the taste was almost better than the authentic Malabar Curry. I loved it, as another friend Mr. Appetite had a Kathi Roll and Ms Tasty Bites settled for Mangalorean chicken curry with Rice, Mr. Hunger, as always, most favorite at Knight, had Tandoori Murg Masala with a Pudina Parantha. There were some other exciting dishes also in the lunch menu such as Methi Murgh, Shrimp Dhania curry, Mutton Chettinad. For vegetarians the have variety of good dishes to savor such as Subz Jalfrezi, Khumb kali Mirch, Paneer Pashtooni, Dal Arhar & many more. All in all the Lunch was a Hunger's Paradise for us. As the bill came, it was less than my other day's individual Lunch bill. I have now decided to come here regularly to ensure, I have tasted all their economy lunches. I am definitely going to be at the top of their (Knight's) regular's list.
So go thumb down the word called "recession" An Economy Lunch Menu with this Lunch Special from Knight. No one knows when the recession will end but what I know is there still are few things which need not be pricy to be selectable/ palatable. Don't wait for recession to end go out to Knight whenever you want to have a jiffy lunch with recessional budget in mind.
